South Africa - History and Destination Lecturing

Daniel Silke has been involved both academically and in elected public office in every facet of South Africa's recent political transformation and offers a comprehensive and very personal account of key developments that has led to the onset of democratic rule.
The series begins with a broad historical overview and continues to look at the ideology of Apartheid and its implementation, resistance to it and the eventual creation of a New South Africa. The program also includes an analysis of the remarkable transition to the democratic era. Finally, a lecture on critical issues facing the new South Africa offers insights for the future. This series can cover up to 6 lectures for longer schedules at sea and can be extended to cover talks on Namibia and Zimbabwe and the entire Southern African region.
Globalization and Global Trends - Destination Lecturing with a Difference!
This series is an introduction to the concept of Globalization and is therefore entertaining, topical and interactive with the audience. It is the only comprehensive lecture series on Globalization at sea and is presented using PowerPoint. These lectures can be tailored for specific regions of the world including China, India, the Gulf (Dubai) and Brazil (Latin America). As the focus is on international relations and contemporary political, social and economic trends, each lecture will also combine local issues of the relevant port/country being visited.
This is clearly destination lecturing - with a difference and is an important lecture series for any cruise worldwide. Lectures can extend to as many as six presentations and is ideal for passengers of mixed nationality as it offers a very international perspective which is easily grasped by multi-national guests.
The Caribbean - Destination Lecturing
The Caribbean is more than just pretty beaches and reggae music. It is a complex set of Islands with unique social, political and economic problems. This latest lecture series offers a comprehensive overview of the region and can also include Central American and Latin American issues as well. Guests will get to know insights into the politics, geography, culture, image, international relations and internal relationships of the Caribbean nations. For the first time, cruise passengers can now learn more about the region and delve deeper into problem areas confronting the region.
